一點小意見：
一般從資料庫中取用資料比較常用的動詞是 retrieve，因為，若用 take out 的話，可能會讓人誤會是把資料抽出來，令資料庫內再沒有那些資料（但一般取用資料，只是取出那些資料的拷貝。原有資料則仍留在資料庫中）。
我的建議譯文如下：
i successively retrieved one half, one third and one fourth of the data in the database.

完整的翻譯為：
